DOT HazMat General Awareness Training

Introduction

This chapter is going to talk about the elemental training related to hazardous materials handling and transportation. There will be classifications of these materials and various categories including hazard communication, evacuation strategies, hazardous material labeling, packaging, marking, and many more topics. The training is mandatory and also talks about the various responsibilities of personnel involved in general hazardous material handling so that they can promote safety for all and contribute to protecting the environment. This chapter is designed to educate personnel involved in the transportation of hazardous materials by road in specific. It will enable them to identify, classify, and categorize hazardous materials in addition to following protocols and performing relevant duties during hazmat incidents and take everyone exposed to safety.
