Regardless of the amount, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials Regulation (HMR), 49 CFR 172.704- Subpart H, also known as HM -181, makes DOT hazmat training mandatory for almost everyone who is involved with hazardous material in some way. This includes managers, employees, and individuals who are involved in handling, managing, storing, loading, transporting, and shipping hazardous materials like chemicals, toxins, and pollutants.
